7 STEP PROCESS FOR QUALITY JUICE PRODUCT

Overseen by Dr. Earl Mindell, Master Herbalist and Formulator of Himalayan Goji® Juice

1. Selection Criteria

Vine-ripened, Himalayan-quality berries are carefully harvested and sorted according to Freelife's strict selection criteria, patterned after the ancient recipes and practices of the Himalayans.

2. Purification & Inspection

Berries are gently washed at a licensed, government-inspected juicing facility.   bushelofgoji.jpg

3. Juicing Process

Berries are juiced to a puree by cold pressing through a micro-fine screen to remove seeds and stems.

4. Analysis and Testing

Goji puree is subjected to complete nutrient and microbiological analysis, and tested for absence of pesticide residues.                 These first four are done by Freelife in China.

5. Proprietary Chill-Blending

Goji puree is combined with natural ingredients utilizing Freelife's exclusive recipe and proprietary chill-blending methods to preserve the balance and content of the active polysaccharides.

6. Cold-Fill Process

The juice is cold-filled into costly, plasticizer-free pharmaceutical-grade bottles. This provides superior protection as compared to glass with no possibility of 'leaching'.

7. Final Testing

Finished juice is subjected to an exhaustive battery of tests, including Spectral Signature, polysaccharide analysis, and full microbiological testing.             5-7 done in the US

Anyone interested in Astrophysics can read in the goji book about the spectroscopic fingerprinting technique, a method of analysing phytochemicals to determine which of the many varieties of the Lycium goji berries might be the most beneficial to humans.

The
goji of Tibetan origin contains unique bioactive polysaccharides (>20), a family of complex carbohydrates bound to proteins. . These "master molecules" support many of the body's systems. In fact, the goji  may be the richest known source of glyconutrients.

A 1 litre bottle of Goji juice provides the polysaccharide equivalent to more than 1 kilo (two pounds) of fresh goji berries.  Buy wholesale and save!

FAQ's about Himalayan Goji Juice and GoChi®      wolfberry.jpg

Is it okay for children to drink GoChi & Himalayan Goji Juice?

Yes, both juices are great for the entire family.

Are these juices only made with goji berries from the Himalayas?

Although they grow in the wild, goji berries are not cultivated in the Himalayas in sufficient quantity for large-scale distribution. The berries used in the Juice are selected from the world's best-known growing regions. These include Inner Mongolia, as well as Ningxia and Xinjiang in the pristine Heavenly Mountains of western China. We use only those berries that conform to the precise Spectral Signature fingerprint and balanced polysaccharide profile of the original Lycium barbarum (goji) of the Himalayas.

Will there be difficulty sourcing goji berries?

We have several sources of supply for goji berries and there are no concerns about difficulty in sourcing them.

Are the polysaccharides unique to Goji Juice?

The polysaccharides are unique to goji, but can vary in quality depending on the ancestry of the plant and the growing conditions for a particular region in a particular year. Look for the juice with a Spectral Signature to ensure that you always receive the same high potency polysaccharides in exact balance when you drink Freelife's Juices. What's all the fuss about ORAC?

ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) is a non-official, non-governmental, private for-pay service that puts a product through a simple test that results in a number that represents what they call "total antioxidant power." There are many different classes of antioxidants, however, and they each work differently. To a scientist, the ORAC number means little because it does not give specific information about what kinds of antioxidants are present. Because the test is so limited in what it measures, we have never done an ORAC test on our Goji Juice.

How much Himalayan Goji Juice should someone drink on a daily basis?

We recommend 30-60 mls twice daily.  Children less.  You can drink more, remember this is juice.

How are we ensured of the quality of Freelife's Juices?

Look for a Seven-Step Quality Manufacturing Program to ensure that you receive the same consistent, standardized quality in every litre of Himalayan Goji Juice. A Spectral Signature is your assurance of potency, purity, and authenticity in every bottle.

Does GoChi Juice and Himalayan Goji Juice contain vitamins and amino acids?

Specifically designed to preserve the content and balance of the goji berry's delicate polysaccharides. It is standardized to a consistently high level of polysaccharides, in perfect balance.

How soon should these Freelife Juices be consumed after it is opened?

It is recommended that you consume GoChi and Himalayan Goji Juice within 30 days after opening and refrigerating the bottle.

After Himalayan Goji Juice is opened, how long can it stay out of refrigeration and still remain effective?

For best-keeping qualities, keep Juice refrigerated after opening. It should not be left out for any more than a couple of hours, the same steps you would take for any food or beverage that must be refrigerated after opened.

What is the difference between a Wolfberry and a Goji berry?

Courtesy of "Informed Voice" magazine 25 July.'06 "

"The humble goji berry is just such a commodity. Its scientific name is Lycium eleganus barbarum. The locals call it goji. Grown for over two millennia in the mountainous regions of Tibet and Mongolia, the goji has an illustrious reputation. To the locals, it has been and continues to be a revered and essential element of health and longevity. Annual festivals celebrate this little berry – its bounty, its properties, its gifts. A traditional food used widely throughout Inner Mongolia and Tibet, the goji berry can be eaten raw or dried and is so nutrient dense .....
Sometimes confused with the Chinese wolfberry, the goji berry is very different, and in fact the Chinese wolfberry is a derivative (centuries on) of the goji. Goji berries are a small vine fruit, about the size of a small grape when ripe for harvesting (which is done with the utmost care in an effort to avoid oxidising the flesh). They grow in abundance in the foothills of the Himalayas and Tibet, when harvested........"

HIMALAYAN GOJI® JUICE or DRIED GOJI BERRIES?

Himalayan Goji Juice, incorporates cutting edge science in its production and it is highly concentrated.  In a capful (30 ml) of juice, you’re receiving about the equivalent benefit of 100+ dried berries. Drinking juice is a much easier way to ensure that you receive the daily benefits of Goji. It takes about 30 seconds to drink a capful of juice rather than 10-20 minutes to eat the equivalent quantity of dried berries. The body quickly and easily absorbs Himalayan Goji juice and the active ingredients go right to work without needing hours of digestion.

FACTS:

Himalayan Goji Juice contains more than one kilogram of fresh lycium barbarum goji berries in every one litre bottle.

Himalayan Goji Juice is as close as possible to eating fresh berries because they are cold-processed while fresh and still nutritionally at their peak.

The nutrient label on dried Goji berry packets are sometimes based on fresh berries. Labelled correctly Vit C and Vit A are listed as zero. Dried berries cannot contain anywhere near the same levels of nutrients as fresh berries or our stabilized juice due to their exposure over time to air. Water-soluble nutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin B, flavonoids break down quickly. Other nutrients like Vitamin E, carotenoids and Polysaccharides are a little more robust but still diminish with time.

The fresh berries used in Freelife's juices are subjected to a Spectral Signature to identify and isolate only those Goji berries with a high level of balanced fully active polysaccharides, which is the exact nutrient profile of the legendary lycium barbarum goji berries from the Himalayas.

Dried berries are not tested with a Spectral Signature, so there is no guarantee that they are the correct species of Goji. They are most commonly lycium Chinense an inferior species of Goji that is grown commercially away from the Himalayas, often using synthetic fertilizers and chemicals.

Dried Goji berries are often dyed to exaggerate their red colour. Fruit imported into Australia is often subjected to irradiation or sterilization processes.

The best quality dried Goji berries from Tibet cost around $25 per 250g…or $100 per kilogram.

Himalayan Goji®Juice costs approx $52 wholesale or $65 retail per litre bottle…and contains one kilogram of fresh cold processed bio-active berries.

The polysaccharide levels in each bottle of Freelife's juice is equivalent to more than 5 kg of dried berries because polysaccharides degenerate over time and most dried berries are 1-2 years old or more before consumption.
